Fonda Jackson is the PA Supportive Services, On the Job Training (OJT) Consultant for ProRank Business Solutions, LLC. After graduating from Hampton University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Fonda began her career in advocacy at Robin’s Nest Inc. as an in-home service provider. There she quickly realized her passion for improving the lives of others. In 2005, she continued serving the community within the New Jersey Department of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP), formerly known as the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS), as a Family Service Specialist II. She worked within the Permanency, Intake, and Adoption units. During her employment with DCPP, she gained experience working with diverse individuals that struggled with various economic, behavioral, and educational issues.
In 2009, while employed with DCPP, she was offered a unique opportunity to work for the union that represents New Jersey state employees. In 2011, she was promoted to Senior Staff Representative. During her employment at the Union, she actively participated in all aspects of member representation, which included organizing, mobilization, and lobbying activities. She also gained valuable experience with advising management and employees on matters related to the administration of contracts; representing workers in disciplinary, grievance, and arbitration hearings, as well as before the New Jersey Civil Service Commission and National Labor Relations Board.
In 2016, she continued her advocacy with the City of Philadelphia as a Compliance Associate within the Mayor’s Office of Labor. She was responsible for administering the Paid Sick Leave and Wage Theft laws by investigating complaints of violations of the law, providing guidance and training to employers and employees as well as developing an outreach plan.
In 2018, she transferred to the Labor Standards Unit within the City of Philadelphia. There she was responsible for monitoring Workforce Diversity Goal Compliance on city contracts which included collecting and maintaining statistical data, conducting assessments and investigations into compliance of workforce diversity goals, as well as providing guidance to contractors regarding workforce diversity requirements.
Fonda is passionate about and focused on addressing the systemic issues that prevent minority and female inclusion in the construction industry.
